The rare feature where the lead genuinely comes of age on screen. Devastating soundtrack of scooter horns.

Synopsis

Sandra flies to Saigon to teach English and Spanish and ends up staying five years, on and off. The actual education happens on the motorbike she rides to work every single day, through traffic that never brakes for anyone. It is also very, very hot.

This is where she grows up. She works out who she is in every sense of the phrase, makes the friends she'll later cross the world to see, falls in love, and tries a few things the film tastefully cuts away from. She also collects the burn on her calf that names the picture: the Saigon kiss, the mark every rider eventually takes off a hot exhaust pipe. Her favourite place on earth. Most of who she is was built here.

Official Tie-In

Ho Chi Run

The arcade adaptation. The traffic from the film, now coming directly at you. See how long you last on the roads the lead rode for five years.
